Nokia has plans to launch an exciting new phone on Windows platform and in their much popular Lumia series. Nokia Lumia 610 is the first ever to run the new tweaked version of Windows operating system, codenamed Tango. This operating platform is strikingly similar to the older version of Windows Phone 7.5 with the only difference that it has lesser specifications.

The Nokia Lumia 610 is a low-cost Windows Phones, and really lives up to its price and though the embedded ClearBlack OLED screen technology isn't quite up to the mark, yet, for the price point we've heard the phone offer a new experience to a much wider range of people. Nokia Lumia 610 price in India is expected to go up to Rs. 12,000 and the device will debut by May 2012. Buyers can choose from four different colors from sober black and silver to trendy pink and blue.

The camera button is so aptly located through the Microsoft design staples that one can bring the camera of Nokia Lumia 610 in operation instantly and get some excellent shots quickly. Easy firing up of the camera doesn’t imply that this 5 megapixels photo shooter with autofocus and LED flash like features can be a nice point and shoot replacement. The still results obtained from this camera are decent but despite Microsoft's photography optimisation, Nokia Lumia 610 is only capable of VGA video recording.
The secondary camera doesn’t exist at all in this smartphone which is also 3G enabled.

Nokia Lumia 610 has 256 MB of RAM and clocks at 800 MHz CPU speed which is much below the original minimum specs outlined by Microsoft. It packs 8 GB of on board memory and supports no external memory via microSD cards because it lacks the slot for it. However, the phone is capable of performing well against more powerful and expensive allies.

The standard Li-Ion BP-3L battery rated at 1300 mAh is capable of delivering music play back time of up to 35 hours. However, it is not well equipped to sustain ample talk time and web browsing time.

For Internet connectivity and web browsing, there is class 10 GPRS and EDGE which offers data speeds to up to 48 kbps and 236.8 kbps, respectively, on 2G and over 3G HSDPA network connection, the speed of the both goes up to 7.2 mbps and 5.76 mbps. The embedded web browser has full fledged HTML 5 support.
